Electrical Engineer

CV Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office.  The

Engineer shall provide engineering design and details and shall work in conjunction with Project Managers and other team members for successful completion of electrical design and engineering for commercial and industrial projects.


The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis and calculations as required for design and engineering of power distribution, lighting, grounding, etc., in accordance with the project requirements and applicable codes and standards.

  • Perform arc flash, short circuit and coordination studies, as required.

  • Provide technical and design guidance to the designers in preparation of construction deliverables.

  • Assist Electrical Department Manager in preparation of procurement and construction specifications, and bid evaluation.

  • Review project scope and vendor information.  Assist Department Manager to establish design criteria and guidelines.

  • Coordinate with other departments, as required.

  • Coordinate with vendors, as required.

  • Identify and resolve any potential conflicts, problems, changes or deviations in designs and engineering.

  • Perform site visits, as required.

  • Review, monitor, and approve quality of the work performed by the designers of the department.

  • Review department design standards and assist Department Manager to ensure compliance within the department and updating them as required.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering with emphasis on power distribution, substations, arc flash/short circuit coordination studies, conduit, tray sizing, cable sizing, and help designers to route the raceways, controls, lighting, grounding, and cable and conduit schedules.

  • Experience should include heavy industrial facilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • P.E. preferred.

  • Experience with E-tap.

  • Experience with AutoCAD or REVIT.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Project Manager

CV Engineering, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a multi-disciplinary Design Engineering, Project Management, and Consulting Company providing quality design, steel detailing, engineering, and project management services to our clients worldwide. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the project team through the process while ensuring that safety, quality, schedule, cost, and customer satisfaction objectives are met. The Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for our client and the project team and responsible for communicating the status of their projects. The Project Manager will report to and work with the Senior Project Manager.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Good communication skills to coordinate between the Client, Vendor, and internal project team.

  • Knowledge of reviewing the project requirements and coordinating with the internal project team.

  • Knowledge of reviewing the project schedule and coordinating the deliverables with the client and internal project team.

  • Monitor and report project details to the project team, including progress, risks, and opportunities in a timely manner.

  • Follow up with the client and internal project team on any open RFI’s.

  • Preparing Monthly progress reports.

  • Attend on-site meetings with clients and vendors as required.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Proven experience as a project manager, preferably in a similar industry or field. (5+ years’ experience in project management required).

  • PMP certification is required.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
